In light of the announcement on Saturday Evening we have been advised to close our doors again. The health club will close Wednesday 4th November at 9pm. We feel that this is a harsh and undue blow as there have been little or no outbreaks in gyms across the UK. We would love to see the evidence behind closing us. It is a known fact that exercise reduces the risk of infections and also significantly improves recovery rate. Most importantly, exercise is invaluable to our mental health.
We cannot speak for other facilities but we have implemented an increased rigorous regime of measures to ensure the safety of our members and our staff. This has included the deep cleaning of the facility in the month leading to reopening, the investment and installation of the new air change system at Ivybridge allowing us to safely resume classes, increasing the distance between machines, implementing safe walkways in communal areas, strictly enforcing the sanitising and cleaning of equipment after every member use as well as the staff wearing PPE throughout the building. We have also worked tirelessly to clean continuously throughout the day as well as deep cleaning the changing facilities upon closure each day.
Over the next 4 weeks we will offering all members access to LIVE CLASSES, our BESPOKE APP and working with our PERSONAL TRAINERS to offer 1-1 sessions. We’ll also set a walking and running community challenge to keep us all focused and connected. Together we will look after our own physical and mental fitness. Even though our doors may be closed – we are always open, so please do not hesitate to contact us anytime.
This latest blow by the government will hurt us massively along with all local small businesses. Last time our doors were kept open by the generosity of our loyal members and we are beyond grateful. This time however it is for only 4 weeks and we will be back up and running very soon.
We know how hard this will affect all of our members and the wider community as this will be a lot harder than the first lockdown given the change of season. We have received so many messages of support from you, our members, and this has blown us away with messages complementing our team and the effort they have put in to keep everyone safe.
The real reason our team has been working so hard is because not only is it important to our members that they receive the best service, but our members are equally as important to us. We love chatting and getting to know our members around the gym, especially at reception when swiping in. So many members have become our friends. We are told all the time that our team is bubbly and happy.
This is because of you.
Your Membership Payment:
In the light of the above we are asking all members to continue to pay your Direct Debit in the normal way, so we can retain key staff and continue to invest in making your club safer for when we re-open . If you are happy with this option, no further action is required by you.
If you would like to suspend your membership for this short lockdown please email your club manager: Plymouth – firstname.lastname@example.org or Ivybridge – email@example.com. Naturally, we hope you continue to leave your normal Direct Debit in place, so the club survives.
To the members who chose to continue to support us, we can only express how grateful we are. If you cannot, we completely understand as times are hard for everyone. Just like last time, we will be putting it ALL back into the gym to make our facilities and team even better for your return.
We look forward to seeing you very shortly.
And do not forget to join into the live online classes and use the new App for recipes and for workouts. We shall post information about our live classes on our social media platforms.
